1. Who we are

MeltsWell is a discovery platform for home bakers, chocolatiers, pastry makers, and other sweet-food creators. We help creators build a public presence page and be found by people looking for their products. MeltsWell is operated by Node and Scale LLC.

2. Data we collect

When you create a creator account, we collect:

• Email address (via Clerk authentication)
• Business name
• WhatsApp number
• Business location (city, country)
• Product photos and descriptions you upload
• Social media handles you provide (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)

When visitors interact with your profile, we collect anonymized engagement events (page views, WhatsApp taps, coupon reveals). We do not store visitor personally identifiable information.

3. How we store your data

Creator profile data is stored in Supabase (database hosted in the EU, Frankfurt region). Authentication is handled by Clerk, which stores email addresses and session tokens securely. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage.

Billing information is handled by Stripe. We never store credit card details on our servers.

4. Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. Events are captured anonymously. We do not associate engagement events (profile views, WhatsApp taps) with personally identifiable information. No visitor names, email addresses, or IP addresses are stored in analytics events.

5. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Clerk session cookie: required for authentication. Set when you sign in.
• PostHog analytics cookie: anonymous analytics. Does not contain personally identifiable information.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your data to third parties. We share data only with the service providers listed above (Supabase, Clerk, Stripe, PostHog) as necessary to operate the platform.

Your public profile page (business name, city, products, WhatsApp link) is visible to all internet users by design. This is the core function of MeltsWell.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your profile data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Deletion takes effect immediately: your page goes offline and your login is disabled. Some records are kept for billing and legal compliance. You can also email hello@meltswell.com.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. You also have the right to data portability and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@meltswell.com.

You can exercise access and portability yourself at any time: download a copy of your data from your dashboard settings.

9. The MeltsWell mobile app

The MeltsWell app for iOS and Android lets you browse creators as a guest or with an account. It collects less data than the website, and nothing it collects is used for advertising.

• Anonymous device identifier: at first launch the app generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. It is sent with the app's requests so features like saving work before you create an account. Our servers store only a one-way code (HMAC) derived from it, never the identifier itself. Signing out replaces it with a fresh one, so the device carries nothing of the previous session.
• Account: signing in uses your email address (one-time code) or Sign in with Apple, handled by Clerk. When you sign in, items saved as a guest on that device are linked to your account.
• Taste preferences: the city and cravings you pick are stored to personalize what the app shows you. The city is chosen by you. The app never requests or uses your device's location.
• Activity: creators and products you save or like are stored with your account, or with the device identifier if you are a guest. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app. Guest data stops being reachable when the device identifier rotates at sign-out.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of MeltsWell after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
